The International Peace Marathon is always held on the first Sunday of October, and this year, the jubilee 100th edition took place on October 1, 2023.
     Members of the Special Operations Forces from the 5th Special Forces Regiment, the 52nd Airborne Battalion, and the 57th Independent Unit tackled a shorter 21,095-meter course, but there were also those who took on the full marathon distance of 42,195 meters. Some competed under the banner of Jozef Gabčík Running Club.
     On Sunday, 12,500 participants lined up at the starting line, and there were our own among them. A notable success was achieved by a member of our Regiment, who completed his first marathon in a time of 2 hours, 56 minutes, and 55 seconds.
