On Thursday, 2 November 2023, the US Ambassador H.E. Gautam A. Rana, along with the Defence Attaché Joshua Passer and a delegation, visited the 5th Special Regiment (5th PSU) in Žilina. The commander Colonel Peter Žochňák personally welcomed the ambassador and his accompaniment at the regiment .
     After an initial welcome to the delegation, the commander had the opportunity to introduce the mission, history, structure and current operations of the regiment. Ambassador Gautam Rana expressed his appreciation for the information provided.
     As is customary - the visit honoured the memory of their colleagues by laying a wreath at the Special Operations Forces soldiers memorial. In addition, Ambassador Rana visited the regimental shooting range and personally witnessed the dynamic demonstration at the unit's premises.
     The visit was conducted in a pleasant atmosphere and at the end of which the ambassador left his entry in the 5th Regiment's Chronicle and was followed by a coffee meeting.
